We are a primary school located in the western part of Slovakia, in a small village called Melčice-Lieskové. Our school is named
by a famous Slovak poet Ján Smrek, who used to live in this village. His poetry is dedicated to school children, but he is also
well-known for his love poetry and pacifist attitude. Our school is attended by pupils from 6 – 15 years old. In this project,
students from 12 – 15 years will participate. The whole school (together with a nursery school) has got 445 students and 27
teachers (including the nursery teachers). Our schools comprises of several buildings – including gym, school canteen,
playground for the smaller children, various sports fields (e.g. for work-out). It is surrounded by a beautiful park. Currently, we
are also working on a new project called "Learning garden” - the aim of this project is to design a new garden in order to use it
as a part of our learning process for different subjects. We would like to improve the life skills of our students and to motivate
them to learn English in interaction with their foreign colleagues. We would also like to work on our teacher ́s skills and to be
inspired by examples of good teaching practises from our foreign partners. Key persons in the project are the following:
Executive director: Mgr. Robert Kostal. In case he leaves his post, the responsibility will be taken by Dasa Fabianova
Coordinators: Martina Drdakova, Janka Lancaricova, Denisa Halackova, Dasa Fabianova We are newcomers in Erasmus+
projects - we would be willing to contribute by preparing evaluation methods/activities for teachers and participants (online
evaluation forms, kahoots for children, etc. )
